Does anyone know any (safe) ways I could bind without a binder?

I'm a trans guy, but I'm not out to my parents (bc they're pretty transphobic) and I was wondering if anyone knew a way I could bind safely without a binder? I don't have any money of my own to spend and I can't order anything because they would notice. Any tips??

@c00d: I've used an old swimsuit before, but I didn't cut that bottom

I'll probably have this in my mind for the next time I wear it

(it actually works pretty well but I suggest not wearing anything under cause it feels uncomfortable)

if you have any old swimsuits i saw an old tutorial where you cut the bottom off + fold up a ton and sew but i don't know how well this works considering i've never tried it

@oakeypokeykandi:

here are some recourses for free binders. They may have long wait lists, but it’s better than nothing, and most have discreet packaging. If you’re part of multiple minorities you may be eligible for a higher place on the wait list.

One sports bra the right way, and the other backwards. If you know how to sew and your chest is on the smaller side sometimes you can make a homemade binder. You may be able to find cheap or free binder resources if you look hard enough. If you have something like cashapp that you can use on your own you may be able to order one under the guides that it’s a sports bra, as a lot of them on websites like amazon say that.

Good luck! I finally got a binder that fits me so I hope you find one as well, or a suitable method for you. If your chest is on the larger side like mine is, it may be very difficult to find a safe method to successfully bind, so I encourage you to make it through until you can safely purchase one.

If you have any questions you can definitely dm me!

i don't have any advice on other ways to bind other than like a tight sports bra, but i got my binder from a friend who has supportive parents and gifted it to me cheer i don't know if that's possible for you, but if you have friends you could ask them. especially if your birthday or something is coming up. good luck! wink

Do not ace bandage or overly wrap yourself. Cutting circulation off can hurt you and damage your ribs. and if you damage your blood supply it can hurt later with top surgery recovery.

I used to get a really compressing sports bra.
